NTU’s Involvement in Energy Efficiency

NTU is committed to promoting energy efficiency (EE) solutions that reduce energy consumption, enhance cost-effectiveness, and support environmental sustainability. This commitment is in line with the European Green Deal’s focus on decarbonisation and energy efficiency. NTU provides advisory support and technical assistance for the design and implementation of energy efficiency strategies and master plans tailored to the specific needs of our clients.

At NTU, we offer a wide range of services aimed at improving energy efficiency across sectors, such as buildings, transportation, logistics (i.e. energy efficient port operations), industry, energy systems and investments (i.e. through Green bonds and public-private partnerships). Our services include conducting pre-feasibility and feasibility studies to assess energy use patterns and identify opportunities for improvement. NTU also assists in the development and implementation of Energy Management Systems (EMS) to optimise energy consumption, ensuring that organisations can monitor and reduce energy usage. NTU works on defining, reviewing, and ensuring compliance with energy performance standards and certifications for buildings, aligning with national and EU regulations.

Additionally, NTU organises training and capacity-building programmes, helping businesses and governments adopt financial models that foster sustainability and effective implementation of energy-saving technologies. We support the promotion of private investment in energy efficiency projects. NTU designs tools for identifying, planning, implementing, and monitoring energy efficiency measures, aligning them with best practices and regulatory requirements.
