NTU International A/S organized a working group for the development of the draft Energy Code of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Date: July 2nd, 2025, NTU International in Tajikistan hosted a regular meeting of the working group for the development of the draft Energy Code of the Republic of Tajikistan at the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The meeting was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, experts in the field of energy and institutions operating in the field of energy.

The meeting reviewed the process of drafting the draft code and presented proposals for its improvement based on the best international practices and modern requirements of the energy sector development.

The draft Energy Code covers key issues of the sector, including improvement of energy efficiency and rational use of energy, regulation of relations in the sphere of production, transmission and consumption of electricity, heat and geothermal energy, development of renewable energy sources, ensuring energy security and attraction of investments.

This document is of particular importance for the comprehensive regulation of legal relations in the energy sector and strengthening the legislative framework for sustainable development of the industry.

 -The purpose of price regulation of natural monopolies in the electricity sector is to set tariffs that cover costs and ensure profits for reliable and quality electricity supply.

 -Discussion of the problems and incentives in the methods of regulating the profitability and costs of natural monopolies.

🔹 Consistency (reliability) of service provision
 -Discussing power continuity regulation: indicators, offsets and incentives to reduce outages.

 -Discusses the regulation of commercial quality of service and compensation mechanisms for breaches of standards.
