NTU International awarded new FWC SEA project: “Techno-Economic Feasibility Study for Upgrading the Solar Equipment Quality Control Laboratory” in Burkina Faso
NTU is proud to announce a new assignment in Burkina Faso with a budget of €100,000, focused on conducting a techno-economic feasibility study for the establishment of a Quality Control Laboratory for solar equipment under the authority of ANEREE. This initiative will help strengthen renewable energy governance, improve consumer protection, and support sustainable energy access in the country.
Specific Objectives:
- Conduct an internal and external diagnostic of the laboratory, including political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal factors.
- Identify essential equipment and materials for establishing both fixed and mobile laboratories for testing solar components, household appliances, and lighting devices.
- Identify applicable testing standards for solar equipment, appliances, and luminaires.
- Propose an investment plan to strengthen quality control capacity.
- Assess training and capacity-building needs of laboratory users
- Identify key stakeholders, gather their input, and propose a consultation framework.
- Carry out financial and economic analysis of the project.
- Evaluate quality control costs by equipment type, ensuring compliance with regulations and stakeholder expectations.
- Assess project quality based on standard evaluation criteria.
- Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and design efficient project management tools.
- Develop a financing strategy to ensure sustainability of the laboratory.
