Latest updates on our work in the Pacific region!

We are advancing institutional strengthening in the Transport Sector in the Solomon Islands.

NTU International A/S is continuing the important work under the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded project: Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Development (ISCD), supporting the Government of Solomon Islands in building a more resilient, well-governed and future-ready transport sector.

The Transport Sector ISCD project - a $1.3M initiative funded by ADB -, aims to support particularly the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, in setting up a strategic roadmap for institutional reforms and strengthening the management of the transport sector.
Key focus areas include:

Sector planning & financing – Ensuring sustainable asset maintenance, improved safety, and long-term reforms.
Business process enhancement – Strengthening management capabilities in road and maritime transport.
Capacity development – Supporting project units and preparing future project submissions.

During this assignment, our team works closely with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, engaging all four core departments and oversight entities, to review legislative frameworks, assess organisational processes, and map capacities across the roads, transport, maritime, shipping, ports and building standards sectors.

In the month of June, work continued across different workstreams, with particular focus on Tranche 3 preparation, safeguards, finance/economic inputs, procurement-related discussions, and coordination with the visiting ADB Fact-Finding Mission.

We are proud to be working with the ADB for this programme which is a testament to our extensive worldwide expertise in developing Transport Sector institutions and their capacities.

Kudos to Elisenda Casas and the rest of our hard working team.

We look forward to delivering an impactful contribution focused on advancing sustainable development and enhancing institutional resilience in the Solomon Islands.
