This initiative aims to strengthen the regulatory framework and institutional capacities of the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA), the main beneficiary of the project and ensuring the highest standards of nuclear safety and radiological protection in the country.

Building on the long-standing partnership between the European Union and Egypt in the field of nuclear safety, this flagship initiative marks a new phase in bilateral cooperation, supporting Egypt’s continued efforts to align with international standards and best practices.

Over the coming years, the project will be implemented by NTU International A/S's team of highly qualified international experts and will focus on enhancing ENRRA’s performance across several priority areas, including:

 -Regulatory oversight of nuclear power plants, 
 -Emergency prepardness, 
 -Public outreach and communication, 
 -Integrated Management System
 -Radiation detection at border crossings and
 -Reinforcing preparedness for severe nuclear accident scenarios, stress test
