SEA 2023 Lot 3 covers a total of six sectors, namely:  sustainable agriculture, livestock, fishery and aquaculture, food security and nutrition, nutrition and human resources and institutional development. Within Lot 3, the focus lies on promoting sustainable agricultural practices, leading to improved food security, and ensuring healthy nutrition for all. Services requested under this Lot typically aim to enhance food production while minimising impact on the environment, supporting farmers and increasing resilience to climate change. By aligning with the EU sustainability goals, these initiatives contribute to ensuring access to safe, nutritious, and affordable food, while fostering long-term agricultural development and sustainability.  

Major areas of expertise within Lot 3 include, among others, crop production, storage, conservation, protection and disease control, transformation, and marketing; legal aspects of animal products; land governance; trade of animal and animal products including sanitary issues and food safety; national stocks assessment; national statistics on food production; marine and freshwater aquaculture; legal aspects of aquaculture; multi-sectoral approach to nutrition; training of personnel; institutional strengthening; rural advisory services and institutional strengthening. 

Our horizontal services provide comprehensive support in key areas to ensure effective policy development, project implementation and knowledge sharing. We provide policy support, including analysis, EU policy alignment and multi-stakeholder dialogue to promote effective decision-making. Project and intervention support ranges from programming and strategic design to practical implementation, such as integration of EU priorities, support for EFSD+ and legal and regulatory analysis. NTU also provides analytical and technical expertise, offering data-driven insights, intervention cycle management and specialised scientific input. Finally, our knowledge management services improve communication, capacity building and dissemination of best practices through training, public engagement and high-impact events.
