Within the EASA FWC Lot 1, NTU provides high-quality technical and administrative support to international cooperation projects in the aviation domain.  

The typical areas in which services are requested under Lot 1 cover various domains of the aviation sector that require specialised expertise and support, focusing on key domains essential to ensure safe, efficient and compliant operations under EASA regulations. These domains include: 

  • Legislation, organisation, safety management; 

  • Licensing, aircraft operations, production and design; 

  • Continuing airworthiness;  

  • Accident and incident investigation;  

  • ATM/ANS; 

  • Aerodromes; 

  • Environment; 

  • Security and drones; 

  • Market and economic regulation; 

  • New technologies, geospatial technology, digitalisation and  Artificial intelligence, etc.  

NTU provides technical and administrative support involved in tasks and activities such as:  

  • Assessment and analysis of recipient countries or regions; 

  • Roadmap and action plan development; 

  • Support to implementation and progress monitoring; 

  • Training and workshops; 

  • Specific studies (e.g. airport capacity improvement, emergency medical services establishment, feasibility study for RSOO establishment, study on implementing ICAO CORSA requirements); 

  • Technical on-site support (e.g. support in certification activities, implementing SMS, regulation implementation, development and drafting of manuals and procedures); 

  • Experience exchanges to share best practices (i.e. remote and digital towers and helicopter operations experience exchange); 

  • Environmental sustainability promotion, public service obligation, and short-haul transportation; 

  • Support the development, transposition and implementation of regulations (e.g. technical standards elaboration guidance, specific guidance material amendment).
