At NTU, we work towards sustainable development by enhancing rural infrastructure and creating financial pathways for agriculture and agro-processing. As the Lot Coordinator, I’m convinced this is the best way to ensure long-term environmental and economic benefits.

The services under EIBAS Lot 6: Bio-economy cover a variety of areas, from primary production through the entire associated value chains, including sub-sectors such as natural resources and natural capital management, rural infrastructure, equipment, machinery and input supply, primary biomass production, food and biomass material manufacturing, transportation and storage, and improving access to rural finance. The main objective of this Lot is to support the transformation and sustainability of bio-economy industries through a holistic approach, improving primary production, value chain integration, rural infrastructure, and financial access for agriculture, forestry, and agro-processing. 

NTU’s services under this Lot include: 

  • Project preparation and implementation support

  • Project documentation review 

  • Capacity building, knowledge creation, and dissemination 

  • Provision of advice on regulatory matters 

  • Provision of advice and analysis related to markets of agricultural and forestry products 

  • Upstream preparatory work for Project Finance operations or PPP project and transaction advisory support 

  • Support in climate action, including adaptation solutions assessments, screening of projects for climate sensitivities, and climate risk and vulnerability assessment
