Some exciting news about our work on digitalization in Africa - PRIDA II
NTU International A/S’ led consortium, in partnership with EY, is implementing the Policy and Regulation Initiative for Digital Africa (PRIDA) II project.
During the month of May our hard working team, together with the European Union Delegation and the African Union Commission has organized a kick-off meeting, marking the official start of this flagship initiative.
The overall objective of this project is to promote universal access to digital connectivity, leverage digital technologies and innovation to transform African societies and economies, facilitate Africa's integration, bridge the digital divide, and ensure Africa's ownership of modern tools for digital management.
The project is implemented across Africa, ensuring a continent-wide impact on digital transformation and regulatory alignment.
Specific Objectives:
- Strengthen the AUC’s capacity to implement thematic digital strategies in education, health, and agriculture.
- Support the AU’s AI strategy to ensure human-centric and responsible AI development.
- Enhance harmonization of digital policies, legal, and regulatory frameworks to establish Africa’s Digital Single Market.
- Build national and regional capacities for Internet Governance and strengthen Africa’s role in global digital policy discussions.
- Improve coordination within African institutions and stakeholders to drive sustainable digital transformation.
Our team, led by Samuel Chari and Lishan Adam will continue to collaborate with the African Union Commission and key stakeholders to drive Africa’s digital future forward!
