Sixth Meeting of the Working Group on the Energy Code in Dushanbe, Tajikistan
NTU organized the Sixth Meeting of the Working Group on the Energy Code in Dushanbe, Tajikistan
Between May 21–23, 2025, Tajikistan took another decisive step toward shaping a sustainable and future-ready energy system.
The Sixth Meeting of the Working Group on the Energy Code brought together representatives from the Presidential Administration, Parliament, Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, Innovation Agency, and Barqi Tojik.
This meeting marked an important phase in the development of Tajikistan’s new Energy Code — a comprehensive legal instrument designed to modernize energy governance and support the country’s transition toward market-based, transparent, and green energy systems.
Key Focus Areas:
- Legal Architecture:
A unified framework covering electricity, gas, heat, renewable energy, hydrogen, water, and energy efficiency. - Strong Institutions:
Foundations laid for an independent regulatory authority, clear mandates for the Ministry, and a more balanced institutional landscape. - Market Rules & Consumer Rights:
Licensing, tariffs, open access, and mechanisms for protecting end users — especially the most vulnerable. - Innovation & Sustainability:
Clear support for renewable energy, green hydrogen, digitalization, and efficiency in all sectors.
The Working Group continues its mission to finalize the Code and prepare the groundwork for implementation. A solid step toward a more secure, investor-friendly, and sustainable energy future for Tajikistan.
