Supporting Serbia in strengthening energy and climate policy alignment with EU standards.

NTU International A/S has been awarded a new project under the Framework Contract SEA FWC – Lot 1, titled “Improved Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (INECP) Monitoring, Reporting, and Updating Project.” The assignment carries a total budget of EUR 999,999.00 and will be implemented over 30 months.

Project Context

The energy sector represents the main source of Serbia’s greenhouse gas emissions, accounting for approximately 70% of the nation’s total emissions. In this context, Serbia’s Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (INECP) plays a crucial role in addressing the country’s energy challenges and advancing alignment with the European Union (EU) acquis.

This new project will assist Serbia in reforming its energy and climate policies in an integrated and comprehensive manner, contributing to the country’s transition toward a sustainable and climate-resilient future.

Project Objective

The specific objective of the assignment is to support the Ministry of Mining and Energy in the monitoring and reporting of the INECP implementation, as well as in the updating (drafting of the second version) of the Plan.

These efforts will be undertaken in line with Serbia’s Energy Law, its obligations under the Energy Community Treaty, and the Regulation (EU) 2018/1999 on the Governance of the Energy Union and Climate Action.

NTU International is proud to contribute to this important initiative, supporting Serbia’s efforts to enhance policy coherence, strengthen institutional capacity, and progress toward a more sustainable and integrated energy future.
