NTU Awarded a New EU-funded Project: “Greenland: National Energy Sector Plan”.

NTU International A/S is proud to announce a new 9-month assignment under the EU–Greenland Green Growth Programme with a budget of €298,000. The project supports the Government of Greenland in the development of its National Energy Sector Plan. Working alongside Nukissiorfiit, NunaGreen A/S, and other key national stakeholders, NTU will assess renewable energy opportunities across Greenland and develop a national investment prioritisation framework. The project will strengthen energy security, support electrification, and provide a robust foundation for renewable energy investments across Greenland. By advancing sustainable energy infrastructure and strategic investment planning, it also contributes to the objectives of the EU Global Gateway strategy and Greenland’s long-term green development goals.

 🎯 Specific Objectives:
•Develop a comprehensive nationwide assessment of Greenland’s existing energy systems, renewable energy resources, and viable pathways for future energy development across all cities and settlements.
•Evaluate and compare sustainable energy solutions based on local technical, economic, and operational conditions.
•Conduct consistent socioeconomic analyses of alternative technologies and energy system configurations to support evidence-based decision-making.
•Design a transparent investment prioritisation framework to identify renewable energy projects with the greatest socioeconomic and strategic benefits.
•Support long-term energy planning, investment prioritisation, and the implementation of Greenland’s transition towards a more sustainable and secure energy sector.

Follow our journey as NTU contributes to shaping Greenland’s renewable energy future through strategic planning, investment prioritisation, and sustainable energy development.
