The overall objective of the project is to contribute to a substantial reduction in fatalities and serious injuries on Ukraine's roads, starting with safer conditions on road sections funded by EIB/EU and other IFI's, eventually on all roads in Ukraine.
The purposes of the project, defined in line with the UN Decade of Action 2011-20 which Ukraine has committed to fulfill, and in line with "safe system" principles which underpin the Global Plan for the Decade of Action, are as follows:
