NTU as the lead of a consortium has been shortlisted for the EIB project: Technical assistance to the Zambia Water and Sanitation Project / TA2013008 ZM IF3

The overall objective of the Technical assistance is to contribute to improving the access of the population in the Mulonga Water and Sewerage Company service area to reliable, sustainable and affordable clean water and wastewater services. This will be attain by ensuring that by the end of project Mulonga Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has: robust management, operational and implementation capacity, and robust infrastructure systems. The geographical area to be covered by the project is the three towns of Chingola, Chililabombwe and Mufulira in the Copperbelt Province, Zambia’s traditional copper mining region bordering on the Democratic Republic of Congo. The business improvement component under this Technical assistance will significantly improve the skills and expertise of MWSC staff. Moreover, Zambian contractors and consultants will have the opportunity to work with international companies and develop new skills and expertise. Furthermore, the ultimate beneficiaries of the project are MWSC’s customers; the project will provide customers within the three towns with a continuous good quality water and sanitation service.
