The global objective of the project is to facilitate Turkey's economic and social development and EU integration through a competitive, accessible and sustainable transport system, in line with EU standards. It will also contribute to the policy objectives of EC cooperation in the transport sector by targeting the improvement of connections between Turkey and the Trans-European Networks for Transport (TEN-T). The purpose of the project are to develop the required management and administrative capacity within the Operating Structure to effectively implement the SOPT and to identify and ensure a continuous supply of quality, mature project proposals to facilitate the effective, timely and regular absorption of IPA funds.
