Lot 1: Support to AUC Department of Infrastructure and Energy in transport policy harmonization and transport sector services development & Support to PIDA PAP for the start-up of smart corridor activities Through this project NTU will contribute to strengthened Africa wide capacity to regulate, organize, promote and finance improved inter regional and continental transport infrastructure and services through interconnectivity across regions by promoting safe trans-boundary transport corridors and harmonized transport policies. Specifically, NTU will enable the African Union Commission Department of Infrastructure and Energy to increase its sector management capacities and to facilitate the implementation of PIDA PAP projects by providing support in two main components: 1. Support to the Department of Infrastructure and Energy in the African Union Commission in the fields of transport policy harmonization and transport sector services development 2. Support to PIDA PAP for the start-up of smart corridor activities Through Technical Assistance, NTU will also support the transport pillar of the 2014-2017 Infrastructure Agenda (Energy, Water, Transport, ICT) of the Joint Africa-EU Strategy. The regional coverage of the project includes ACP group of states with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa and leverage effect to the Caribbean and Pacific regions.
