The scope of this project is to present a review and analysis of the environmental and social impact assessment and the strategic environmental and social assessment (Evaluation Environnementale et Sociale Stratégique) carried out so far against compliance with international best practice, relevant Senegalese laws and regulations and the Standards of the EIB.
Specifically, NTU will undertake a coordinated, thematic review of the documentation, with a view to identifying gaps and potential reputational risks for the EIB. The review will focus on gaps, i.e. it will be an exhaustive account of how the applicable requirements are met or not in the project’s environmental and social documentation or other regional strategic environmental, social and water management plans.
NTU will also comment on the most urgent or highest priority actions to address the risks identified.
